Ruben Neves “really happy to work” with new Wolves manager

First up, it seems that Manchester United may be left frustrated in their pursuit of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves. The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but hinted at his happiness at Molinuex in a recent interview.

Speaking to Wolves TV, Neves said:

“He is a very good coach, I am really happy to work with him.”

“I spoke with a few friends when he signed for Wolves – that were players in Benfica and are good friends of mine – and they said a lot of good things about him.”

“I can see it now. He is a very good coach with lots of good ideas. I think that when things are completely together, we will be a really hard team to beat.”

Will Manchester United be able to turn the 24-year-old’s head this summer?

United set “maximum price” for Haaland

Erling Haaland is one of the most sought after players in world football at present, with a release clause in his contract sure to attract plenty of suitors when it comes into effect next summer.

One of those clubs will be Manchester United, who are looking for a long term solution at number 9, with Edinson Cavani’s contract set to expire at the end of the season. However, as per the Daily Express, the Red Devils will not pay crazy money for the Norwegian star.

As per the report, the Red Devils are willing to part with 130 million pounds for Haaland, 75 million of which would be on his release clause. This means, in turn, that they are willing to pay super agent Mino Raiola, notoriously difficult to deal with, a king’s ransom in order to secure the deal if necessary.

The problem with this is that every other club will likely be willing to do the same.

Pochettino coy on Pogba PSG links

Paul Pogba has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer, with Paris Saint Germain credited with a concrete interest in the midfielder.

The French club contested the Trophee des Champions, the equivalent of the Community Shield, with Ligue 1 champions Lille last night. Ultimately, they failed to impress and fell to a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a Xeka thunderbolt.

Following the game, Pochettino was asked by 101GreatGoals if the performance by his side on Sunday convinced him that PSG may require a few more additions, specifically Paul Pogba – to which the Argentine replied:

‘You see the list of the players that we have at home, we have plenty of players. Half of the squad is at home. A few are on holiday. I think the performance was good, I am happy, and I don’t want to talk about names of players who are in other clubs.’

Could Pogba be playing back in France next season?
