Manchester United told what special attribute Christian Eriksen has brought to club

Ex-Manchester United star Wes Brown has told the Red Devils what key attribute Christian Eriksen has brought to the club.

Ex-Manchester United star Wes Brown has told the Red Devils what key attribute Christian Eriksen has brought to the club.

The Dane was a free agent after spending six months on loan with Premier League outfit Brentford, following his return to football on the back of his collapse at Euro 2020.

Eriksen looked as sharp as ever for the Bees. In 11 outings for Thomas Frank’s side he was able to score one goal and provide four assists, playing a key role in Brentford avoiding a relegation battle during their first season in the Premier League.

After proving he is still at the top of his game, Eriksen generated a decent amount of interest for his services this summer.

His former club Tottenham were linked, but Manchester United won the race for the midfielder.

United confirmed last week that Eriksen has signed a three-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2025.

On top of this, Wes Brown is of the opinion that Eriksen has the ability to make everyone step up their game:

“He’s got the experience [to play in attacking midfield or deeper],” Brown said. “We all know he plays a little bit higher, where Bruno [Fernandes] plays, but ultimately we don’t know what the manager’s thinking yet. Can he play somewhere else? The point is we have that rotation now.

“He makes the squad feel better and he makes everyone step up their game. When you get good players in you have to step your own game up if you want to play. Eriksen is the player that has the quality to make others do that.

“He’s very experienced and when we’ve seen him play, even his first spell in the Premier League with Tottenham, he was excellent.”
