Manchester United’s overall progression seen across the 2022-23 season both at home and on the continent has left many Red Devils faithful feeling well and truly confident about a future under Dutch tactician Erik ten Hag, with their top four credentials being tested on Sunday against a Newcastle United side also hell-bent on securing a place in the Champions League.

Ten Hag is sure to be without Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, Alejandro Garnacho, and the suspended Casemiro for this one, however, so few changes overall can be expected from the preferred XI on the basis of issues that have already resided.

Questions do however surround Raphaël Varane, Marcel Sabitzer, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial, but Varane, Sabitzer, and Rashford are all anticipated to feature in the XI assuming they pass late assessments, while Martial would likely feature in the matchday squad on the bench if he too is deemed fit for service.
