Manchester United target flying to England to complete Old Trafford switch

The Red Devils are closing in on what could be a fifth signing

Manchester United target Altay Bayindir is reportedly flying to England to complete a deal to join the Red Devils this summer, becoming Erik ten Hag’s fifth summer signing in the process.

The Turkish shot-stopper has already undergone a medical in Turkey ahead of a potential move from Fenerbahce to Old Trafford, which is believed to be set to cost United around £6m.

Now, talkSport report that the goalkeeper has already said his goodbyes to his teammates, and that Bayindir is now flying to Manchester to complete the switch.

He will certainly be called upon too, with Andre Onana set to miss up to a month of the season due to African Cup of Nations duty, with the tournament being held in January 2024, a month that will include FA Cup and Carabao Cup games should the Red Devils progress.

Bayindir will join Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana and Jonny Evans as new arrivals at the club, with the latter expected to be handed a 12 month deal after impressing Ten Hag over the summer.

The move will raise fresh questions over Dean Henderson, who has been an unused substitute for both of their opening Premier League games so far. He had been ecpected to join Nottingham Forest this summer, but they have since signed Arsenal shot-stopper Matt Turner.
