Manchester United set for financial windfall if Wilfried Zaha leaves Crystal Palace

Manchester United set for financial windfall if Wilfried Zaha leaves Crystal Palace

Zaha wants Crystal Palace exit

It would not be a summer transfer window without some Wilfried Zaha rumours.

The Ivorian appears to have been trying to leave Crystal Palace for some time now.

Zaha was heavily tipped to join Everton in 2019 and the forward was said to have been left ‘devastated’ after not being able to secure a move.

Now, with the 2021 summer window just around the corner, Zaha appears to be angling for a move again.

The Times reported earlier this week that Zaha had told Palace he wants to leave and would like a transfer sorted before pre-season training starts.

Man United set for financial boost if Zaha leaves

Should Zaha finally earn his move this summer, Manchester United will be set for a nice financial boost.

The 28-year-old would of course re-sign for Palace in 2015 after a poor stint with Man United.

The Eagles were able to snap up Zaha for a minimal sum at the time, believed to be less than £4m.

However, it is understood that Man United inserted a clause into that deal which means they will be due 25 per cent of any fee Crystal Palace receive when they sell Zaha.

Will Zaha actually leave Palace?

Whether or not Zaha is actually able to force a move remains to be seen.

Zaha is Palace’s marquee player and they have put a £100m price-tag on him previously.

The issue for Zaha though, is that he is worth a lot more to Palace than any other side in the Premier League.

And if Palace are going to demand a similarly steep summer this summer, it is really hard to see him leaving Selhurst Park in the near future.
