A fresh insight into Chelsea star Mason Mount’s prospective move to Manchester United has been provided late on Sunday evening.
Links between midfielder Mount and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United, of course, have begun to mount in the media ahead of the summer transfer window swinging open.
After the powers that be at Chelsea failed in long-standing attempts to tie the club’s youth product down to fresh terms, their counterparts on the red half of Manchester swooped to take advantage of the situation.
An agreement, in turn, is already understood to be in place between United and Mount, over the personal terms of a contract.
The transfer team at Old Trafford are yet to find a similar agreement with Chelsea over a fee, but confidence is thought to be high that, in the end, common ground will be reached.
And as much was no doubt communicated to Mount himself, during a fresh exchange earlier this week.
As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, key members of the Old Trafford hierarchy reached out to the club’s prime midfield target over the course of the last few days.
‘Positive messages’ are understood to have been conveyed, with Mount having been advised to sit tight, ahead of an imminent Red Devils assault for his signature.
