Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been full of praise for one of the club’s latest signings, Christian Eriksen.

The Dane was a free agent after spending six months on loan with Premier League outfit Brentford, following his return to football on the back of his collapse at Euro 2020.

Eriksen looked as sharp as ever for the Bees and, as a result, generated a decent amount of interest for his services this summer.

His former club Tottenham were linked, but Manchester United have won the race for the midfielder.

United confirmed last week that Eriksen has signed a three-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2025.

Eriksen is expected to add some quality depth to United’s side, offering cover in a few positions.

The former Spurs man is also capable of operating slightly deeper in midfield, suggesting he could partner someone like Frenkie de Jong in a pivot.

Now, when speaking about the Danish international, Ten Hag has labelled him a magnificent football, as well as predicting that Man United fans will enjoy watching him:

“I think he [Eriksen] is a magnificent football player and I think the fans will enjoy watching him, because he’s creative, he has ideas,” said Ten Hag. “I think especially our strikers will also be happy because he’s the one who can involve them in the game.”

“The fact that we’ve got him [Eriksen], we have him in our squad, tells everything, because I think we were really selective. It wasn’t the point to get players in, but the right players in. I’m really happy that we succeeded with Christian Eriksen.”
