Manchester United fans dealt blow in latest takeover update

A fresh Manchester United takeover update has emerged.

The Glazer’s plan to sell Manchester United emerged back in November of 2022.

“Manchester United plc (NYSE:MANU), one of the most successful and historic sports clubs in the world, announces today that the Company’s Board of Directors (the “Board”) is commencing a process to explore strategic alternatives for the club”, the club wrote in a statement.

“As part of this process, the Board will consider all strategic alternatives, including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions involving the Company”, they added, with multiple reports claiming that their unpopular reign at the club’s helm was finally set to come to an end.

It was then reported by Qatari news outlet Raya at the beginning of July that a deal was set to be signed off in the next few hours, with Sheikh Jassim becoming the new owner of the Old Trafford outfit.

However, that did not happen, leaving Man United very much in limbo with pre-season nearly over and the Premier League season just a couple of weeks away.

Now, a fresh update on the situation has been provided. A source told inews what they believe is the current situation and it doesn’t exactly sound promising for those fans wanting to see new ownership at Old Trafford:

“There haven’t been requests to modify the offers or come up with a new round of bids as there was earlier in the process, there’s just been no communication whatsoever of late.”
