Manchester United duo targeted online after poor start vs Arsenal

Arsenal and Manchester United are currently locked in Premier League action at the Emirates.

Arsenal headed into the game knowing that a win on the day would see them climb above Tottenham into 4th for the time being, piling pressure on Spurs ahead of their late kick-off versus Brentford.

Man United, on the other hand, were aware that a loss to Arsenal would effectively end their chances of securing Champions League football for next term.

And, at the time of writing, it is Arsenal who are leading in the game thanks to an early strike from Nuno Tavares.

Varane & Lindelof targeted

The opener came about when the ball was floated into the United box with both Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof failing to clear it.

It then fell to Bukayo Saka whose deflected shot landed in the path of the onrushing Nuno Tavares, with the Portuguese smashing his effort past David de Gea.

And now, after Manchester United's early setback, both Varane and Lindelof have come in for heavy criticism online due to their frankly dismal attempts to prevent Arsenal from taking the lead:
