Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will remain confident about the run-in to the final day of the 2022-23 Premier League season after the holding champions thrashed Liverpool 4-1 in their last fixture, and will certainly look at their weekend clash with Southampton as a result that must yield three points if they are to stand a chance of catching Arsenal.
Pep will still be without England starlet Phil Foden, however, who remains ruled out after having his appendix removed and is set to miss the majority of the rest of the season. Erling Haaland will also face a late assessment but Argentine international Julián Álvarez will likely lead the line even if he does pass fit.
