Manchester City team news and predicted XI vs Liverpool

The Premier League holders look to keep pace with table-topping Arsenal while looking to get one over on a Liverpool desperate for late-season growth

Manchester City Team News

  • Out: Phil Foden
  • Doubt: Erling Haaland

Manchester City boss Peo Guardiola will have the arduous task of remaining on the heels of table-topping Arsenal as Premier League play resumes at the weekend, with a clash against domestic rivals Liverpool at the Etihad.

Though the Reds have been a shadow of their usual selves in 2022-23, Liverpool still holds a very credible head-to-head record against City, posting three wins and two draws in their previous six meetings.

Guardiola will come into the weekend guaranteed to be without England international Phil Foden, who is out until May after having his appendix removed, but Norwegian hitman Erling Haaland could be passed as fit for selection subject to a late assessment but remains a doubt at the time of writing. Should Haaland not start, Argentine youngster Julián Álvarez will lead the line.
