The latest social media activity on the part of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has piqued widespread attentions on Sunday evening.

The name of midfielder De Jong, of course, has taken its place centre stage in the headlines across Europe once more over the course of the day to date.

This comes on the back of claims stemming from the French media, hinting that the Dutch international is uninterested in linking up with long-term suitors Manchester United.

Instead, German giants Bayern Munich are said to be the only club for whom FdJ is open to departing Barcelona, a heavy blow to the transfer plans of former boss Erik ten Hag.

And now, as alluded to above, Barca's in-demand midfield dynamo has stolen the media headlines once more.

This, though, comes owing to the latest social media activity on De Jong's part.

As spotted by eagle-eyed supporters on Instagram on Sunday evening, the 25-year-old, a short time ago, dropped a hint that he has been left altogether disappointed by the manner in which he has been treated by Barcelona this summer.

With the Blaugrana understood to be pushing their once so highly valued performer towards the Camp Nou exit door, one fan of the club took aim at Joan Laporta and co, courtesy of the following message:

"I dislike the way we have handled Frenkie's situation."

And De Jong himself, evidently in agreement with such a viewpoint, was not shy in too making his feelings known, by means of 'liking' the comment in question:
