Man United loanee Amad Diallo bags pair of EFL awards

The name of Manchester United talent Amad Diallo has taken its place front and centre in the headlines late on Friday evening.

Amad, of course, was farmed out on loan this past summer, making the move to the Championship to line out for Sunderland.

His ensuing spell in Tyne and Wear subsequently got off to an altogether hit-and-miss start, as the Ivorian struggled to adapt to the rigours of the game in England’s 2nd tier.

The last couple of months, though, have seen Amad, step by step, find his feet.

After finding the net on a trio of occasions across November, the wide-man, in turn, was rewarded with a starting berth in all of Sunderland’s five fixtures last month.

And, safe to say, Amad went on to take full advantage of his extended run of minutes in the Black Cats’ XI.

And, as alluded to above, on Friday evening, such efforts have seen Amad both aptly and deservedly rewarded.

As confirmed in a series of posts across social media, the former Atalanta prodigy has been named as not only the PFA Young Player of the Month for December, but outright Player of the Month, too.
