Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has, on Sunday evening, provided an update on the wellbeing of two key members of his squad.
City, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
After seeing Premier League title rivals Arsenal drop another two points in a meeting with Brentford on Saturday, the Sky Blues welcomed Aston Villa to the Etihad, hopeful of closing the gap on the table-topping Gunners to just three points.
And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what Guardiola and co. went on to do.
First- half goals on the part of all of Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez ensured that Ollie Watkins’ strike on the hour mark proved to be little more than a consolation, en route to a 3-1 final scoreline in Manchester.

On an otherwise fine day’s work for Man City on Sunday, however, not one, but two sources of concern were also forthcoming on the personnel front.
Speaking to the media post-match, Pep Guardiola, in turn, was inevitably drawn on the wellbeing of the pair.
And the Citizens’ boss went on to reveal that, whilst Dias’ premature exit simply came as a precaution to ensure that he was not shown a 2nd yellow card, hitman Haaland will be ‘reassessed’ over the coming days, after being on the receiving end of ‘a kick’.
Guardiola on the HT subs: ‘Ruben because he had a yellow card, I don’t know why, it is what it is, Erling has a kick and we will reassess the next days how he does.’
