Barcelona attacker Malcom has slammed rumours that he could depart the Camp Nou in January, less than half a season after his arrival in Catalunya.
Malcom’s Barcelona struggles
21-year-old winger Malcom made the move to Barca from Bordeaux during the summer, for a fee of 41 million Euro.
The Brazilian exploded onto the scene in Ligue 1 last season, where his pace, hammer of a left-foot and eye for the spectacular caught the attention of a number of clubs around Europe.
No wonder half of Europe wants to sign Malcom!

However, he has thus far majorly struggled to replicate this form since arriving in Catalunya, with Blaugrana boss Ernesto Valverde having afforded the South American a paltry 34 minutes of time on the pitch to this point in the campaign.
Malcom’s Premier League links
As such, Malcom has inevitably been linked with a possible winter departure from the Camp Nou, just months after securing a move to the La Liga champions.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea have all been touted as potential destinations in the media, with a potential swap-deal between the Blues and Barca surrounding Malcom and Willian having even been suggested.
‘Will not break my confidence’
However, Malcom himself was this evening questioned on his difficult start to life at Barca, as well as the rumours that he could be on the move as soon as January.
And the gifted attacker was in no mood to mince words, slamming the media’s speculation as ‘fake information’.
‘That is fake information and it will not break my confidence,’ Malcom told Goal.com.
The former Bordeaux star netted his first goal in a Barca jersey on Tuesday, just two minutes after being introduced as a substitute during a Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
And Malcom has revealed his hopes that his maiden strike can act as a springboard for his career in Catalunya:
‘Scoring a goal for Barcelona right after that [the rumours] was important for my confidence. I’m sure I can do much more to help the club.’
‘About news that came out here in Spain, I want to clarify this. I came to Barcelona with many objectives, and those who know me know that I am a very determined person.’
‘I’m very happy with my development with every passing day. My objective is to make my dreams come true.’
