Aston Villa vs Everton
Round three of the Premier League kicks off on Friday night at Villa Park.
Newly promoted Aston Villa are hoping to secure their first win of the season against Everton.
Villa lost 3-1 at Tottenham in week one, before a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth last time out.
Everton, meanwhile, are the only side in the league who are yet to concede a goal.
A 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace was followed up with a 1-0 win over Watford.
Will Lucas Digne be fit for Aston Villa vs Everton?
This is the question that all Everton fans are focused on right now.
Against Watford, Lucas Digne set up the only goal of the game, as he freed Bernard down the left-hand side.
However, Digne was subbed out of the match in the 73rd-minute with a knock.
Everton are yet to confirm the status of Digne’s health.
But, there’s now good reason to believe that Digne will be involved against Aston Villa.
That’s after Everton released a set of photos from first-team training on Wednesday, which revealed that Digne is back working with his team-mates (see the third image on the Instagram unit below).
Does that mean Lucas Digne is fit for Everton?
Right now it’s still too early to say that for definite.
Should the French left-back miss out against Villa, Leighton Baines could fill in instead.
Baines is back in first-team training at Everton following a thigh problem which has kept him sidelined so far this season.
Another possible alternative is to play Djibril Sidibe at left-back, although the French defender is usually deployed on the other flank.
Additionally, Fabian Delph could step in at left-back if Digne is injured.
However, Delph is himself on the comeback trail from his own injury problem.
