Liverpool sweating over Darwin Nunez fitness ahead of Brighton clash

A fresh concern on the personnel front has been confirmed in Liverpool’s ranks late on Thursday evening.

The Reds, of course, have endured an altogether tough time of things of late, when it comes to injuries.

Amid ongoing efforts to navigate their way back into the top-4 picture in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp’s troops have seen the likes of Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and Luis Diaz forced into respective spells on the sidelines.

And now, questions over the wellbeing of yet another Liverpool star have surfaced.

As confirmed by reliable journalist Paul Joyce, Darwin Nunez has not featured in training alongside the rest of Klopp’s squad for several days now.

This comes as the summer arrival on Merseyside deals with an ‘unspecified’ fitness problem.

Whilst the issue is not thought to be of a serious nature, Nunez’s participation on Saturday - when Klopp and co. are primed to make the trip to England’s south coast for a meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion - is understood to be in jeopardy.

With Roberto Firmino also yet to mark his return to training, the Liverpool coaching staff may well be forced to get creative when it comes to centre-forward options at the Amex.
