Liverpool star to miss remainder of season following surgery

A Liverpool star is out for the remainder of 2022/23.

Liverpool’s form has improved a great deal in recent weeks.

This has seen the Reds climb up to 5th in the Premier League table. A Champions League spot remains out of the question, with Liverpool seven points off Manchester United having played one more game already.

However, Jurgen Klopp and co. can still fight it out for 5th, though there are only four points separating them and 8th place Brighton, who have two games in hand.

As a result, Liverpool need to keep up their winning ways for the rest of 2022/23, but will have to do so without a key man.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to a hip injury.

The decision has been taken for the Spain international to undergo a minor operation to sort out the problem

The 32-year-old has been beset by injury setbacks since his arrival from Bayern Munich in 2020. He has started just 22 games in all competitions this season and only recently returned to action after two months out with a hip flexor problem.
