Liverpool star singled out for special praise during Benfica clash

Liverpool are currently locked in Champions League action with Portuguese powerhouse Benfica.

It is the first of two quarter-final matches with the second taking place at Anfield next week.

The Reds headed into the first-leg tie as the clear favourites, even if Mohamed Salah has not been at his best of late.

And at the moment, it is Liverpool who are in control of Tuesday’s matchup.

The Reds have dominated the opening 30 minutes and currently find themselves one goal to the good after Ibrahima Konate got on the end of an Andy Robertson corner:

Konate praised

Even before putting his side 1-0 up, though, Konate was having a superb opening to the game, working well with Virgil van Dijk and putting in a number of good tackles and blocks.

As a result, Liverpool fans have taken to social media in their droves to heap praise on the Frenchman during Liverpool’s clash with Benfica, with just some of the reaction shown below:
