Liverpool & Man United fans mixed reactions to Champions League draw

Champions League quarter-final draw

The 2018/19 Champions League quarter-final draw took place on Friday, March 15th.

After Man City smashed Schalke and Liverpool beat Bayern earlier this week, it was the first time since 2009 that England had four teams in the UCL quarter-final draw.

Also, after Arsenal and Chelsea made it through the Europe League round of 16 on Thursday, it was the first time since 1971 that England have had six teams in European quarter-finals.

Liverpool vs Porto & Man United vs Barcelona

After the draw, Manchester United and Liverpool fans have had very mixed reactions.

Liverpool, last year’s finalists, will play FC Porto in their quarter-final.

While there is no such thing as an easy game in the UCL last eight, Porto is probably the best team Jurgen Klopp’s side could have drawn.

Manchester United, however, have arguably the hardest draw as they must take on Spanish giants and current favourites, FC Barcelona.

Liverpool are, however, likely to have a very tough semi-final because should they beat Porto and Barca beat United, they will face Lionel Messi’s side in the next round.
