Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have been placed on red alert about Barcelona star Gavi following further issues cropped up in his Barcelona contract.
In September, it was announced that the teenage sensation had signed a new deal at Camp Nou, which included 1 billion euro release clause and that would keep him in Catalonia until 2026.
However, La Liga have claimed that the Blaugrana could not afford his salary due to their financial issues, which Javier Tebas has already revealed will see them need to βdrop spending on wages and transfers from Β£532m to Β£399m (β¬650m to β¬450m), so itβs a budget of minus Β£177m (β¬200m)β.
And, though this decision was initially overturned by a court, La Liga have since appealed and seen their initial plan reinstated, meaning that Gaviβs contract has become invalid.

It means that, as it stands, Gavi has returned to his youth contract, and will become a free agent this June, meaning that Barca could again lose one of their stars for nothing.
And this has alerted Liverpool, who were previously under the impression that there was no chance of signing the Spanish teenager due to his massive Barcelona contract, and his love of the Catalan side.
Jurgen Klopp and his side are desperate to recruit in midfield this summer, with Jude Bellingham thought to be their no.1 target, though they have also been linked with Mason Mount, Moises Caicedo and Matheus Nunes should a move for the English star not come to fruition.
