An update on the wellbeing of Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi has been provided on Thursday evening.
For those not aware, Argentine international Messi was forced to sit out PSG's latest outing, when the capital giants made the trip to the Stade Raymond Kopa for a Ligue 1 meeting with Angers.
This came owing to what is understood to have been inflammation of the 34-year-old's left Achilles tendon.
Messi, in turn, was immediately labelled as a doubt to feature in PSG's next fixture, too, when Mauricio Pochettino's men welcome Lens to the Parc des Princes this coming Saturday.
If the latest word stemming from the French media this evening is anything to go by, though, then those hopeful of seeing the 7-time Ballon d'Or winner return to action this weekend need not fret.
This comes amid the suggestion that the latest medical tests carried out on Thursday gave rise to encouraging results, with Messi, in turn, expected to be in contention to feature against Lens.
Ramos amongst the goals
Messi's absence on Wednesday, in the end, of course made little difference when it came to PSG's endeavours to rack up yet another three-point haul.
A dominant showing ultimately culminated in the Parisian giants emerging on the right side of a 3-0 result, owing to goals on the part of all of Kylian Mbappe, Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos.
In turn, should Pochettino and co. make it five wins on the spin at the expense of Lens this weekend, they will open up an insurmountable gap atop the Ligue 1 table, securing the French top-flight title in the process.
