Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino has, on Friday, provided an update on the wellbeing of star man Lionel Messi.
For those not aware, the subject of veteran attacker Messi’s fitness has emerged as a major source of concern in Miami over the course of the last week.
This comes after the 36-year-old, fresh off netting the winner for his country against Ecuador, was forced to sit out Argentina’s World Cup qualifier with Argentina on Tuesday owing to an injury concern.
Speaking to the media on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Messi’s availability for the coming round of MLS fixtures was put to the aforementioned Tata Martino.

Inter are set to return to action on Saturday night, in a must-win meeting with Atlanta United.
The Herons faithful, in turn, are no doubt desperate for their side’s star man to be fit and available to feature from the off at the Mercedez-Benz Arena.
Despite assuring that Messi is ‘fine’, the Argentine tactician admitted that he may not be risked against Atlanta, ahead of an upcoming stretch of five fixtures in the space of just over two weeks:
“He is fine, but we are still going to wait until the end of training to make a decision. We will be careful with him because we have a lot of important games in a short span.”
