Leroy Sane 'not thinking' about leaving Bayern Munich this summer amid European interest

Suggestions that Leroy Sane is keen to leave the Allianz Arena this summer are wide of the mark, according to reports in Spain, with the German currently 'not thinking' of leaving and instead that 'the player's intention is to stay and succeed at Bayern Munich'.

Sane, who joined Bayern Munich from Manchester City in 2020, grabbed 7 goals and 7 assists in 32 Bundesliga outings as he helped them to another title last campaign, and is expected to remain a key figure in Bavaria even with the arrival of Sadio Mane this summer.

There have been rumours that Sane would be keen on a departure this summer, with Arsenal one of the clubs having been linked with the German as Mikel Arteta looks to lean on his former relationship with the forward while the pair were at Manchester City.

However, as per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Sane has already turned down even entertaining a move to Real Madrid this summer, with reports in Germany denying any potential chance of Sane departing Bavaria this summer.

This, in turn, suggests that a return to the Premier League is also off the cards.

Bayern set to lose Lewandowski

Despite Sane staying at Bayern, one man who will not be is Robert Lewandowski, who has joined Barcelona in a deal worth up to 50m euros. The top scorer for the German Champions in each of the last seven seasons, his goals will certainly be missed.

However, 50m euros for a player who will turn 34 years old before the end of the transfer window represents quite the return for the German side, who are expected to put those funds towards a move for Matthijs de Ligt.
