Brendan Rodgers may come into the weekend with a massive boost to his Leicester City side after today’s update regarding James Maddison revealed that the England international could be fit to face Southampton on Saturday barring his progress for the rest of the week. At the time of writing it is unclear if he will certainly start, but at the very least, he looks set to make the bench and have some measure of involvement.
Unfortunately, Youri Tielemans is expected to be out for a number of weeks in what is a big loss for the Foxes’ depth in central areas, with Belgian colleague and fellow RSC Anderlecht academy graduate Dennis Praet to continue to deputize.
James Justin and Ryan Bertrand are also out, with Jonny Evans’ thigh injury likely ruling him out just the same. Leicester is likely to keep their best possible XI at current despite recent consecutive losses, but such are Saints’ struggles that Rodgers will remain hopeful of finding a result.
