Kylian Mbappe sends message to Arsenal’s William Saliba

Kylian Mbappe sent a message of support to Arsenal and France centre-back, William Saliba.

France were in UEFA Nations League action on Thursday evening vs Austria.

France headed into the game in dismal form, losing two and drawing two of their previous four outings in the competition.

On Thursday, though, France finally picked up a win, beating Austria 2-0 thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe and Oliver Giroud.

After the game, Mbappe sent a message of support to Arsenal’s Saliba, who came off the bench during the win.

Saliba took to Instagram after the game to thank the fans. “Always proud to wear this jersey. Thanks to the supporters for this atmosphere,” he wrote.

Mbappe, who seemed impressed with the defender’s performance, replied to the post by writing, ‘Duroooooo,’ which translates to ‘hard’ in English.

France are five points off top spot, so they cannot top their group, with that battle instead coming down to Croatia and Denmark.

But they can still be relegated from their group. Austria are bottom with four points, whilst France sit on five.

So if France fail to beat Denmark and Austria beat Croatia in the other game, then France will join England in the second tier of the Nations League next year.

It is also France’s final match before the 2022 World Cup kicks off, so they are sure to want to put in a positive display before facing Australia on November 22nd.
