Ahead of the game, Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press on Friday.
When speaking to the media, Klopp discussed a number of topics, including team news:
“Tomorrow too soon? [For Naby Keita] Yes! We can’t rush it, a tough injury. Only in parts of training.
Ibou [Konate] will be in full team training [next week]. It’s football pre-season if you like. Ox is 1-2 weeks ahead of Naby. What happens in the summer no-one knows at the moment.
“No injuries or comebacks [from West Ham]. Two tough games in short succession and now another, we need a closer look who can start. We only have today’s session, yesterday was recovery.”
Klopp also spoke out on Steven Gerrard being sacked by Aston Villa: “I am sure he will come back from that. I’ve been 7 years at Liverpool, we’ve not met a lot for different reasons, but we created a close relationship and I’ve always followed him. Had a quick exchange this morning, nothing too deep.
Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool
Liverpool head into the Forest match expected to make it three wins from three.
The Reds have won their last two league matches, whilst also keeping clean sheets in the process.
This has moved Liverpool up to 7th in the table, just four points away from the top-four.
As for Nottingham Forest, they sit dead bottom of the Premier League with one win from 11. Forest also have the second-worst defence in the PL and look set for a swift return to the Championship.
