Kevin De Bruyne bags two Champions League awards after display vs Real Madrid

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has, on Friday, secured not one, but two UEFA awards.

This comes owing to the Belgian’s latest display on the continent.

City, and De Bruyne, were of course back in action in midweek, making the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg of the club’s Champions League semi-final double-header with Real Madrid.

And, after falling behind to a moment of Vinicius Jr. magic late in the first-half, the Sky Blues ultimately battled their way back to a solid share of the spoils.

This came courtesy of a wonderful goal of their own, by way of the aforementioned De Bruyne.

After being laid on by midfield partner Ilkay Gundogan, City’s talisman drove an unstoppable long-range effort beyond the dive of the despairing Thibaut Courtois.

The former Chelsea man’s honours have not stopped there, however.

In addition, owing to his all-round contribution in Madrid, De Bruyne has too been unveiled as the Champions League Player of the Week:
