Karim Benzema makes scary Kylian Mbappe Real Madrid prediction

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has suggested that, should Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid in the summer, Los Blancos would score twice as many goals as they would otherwise, on account of the relationship the pair share.

The Frenchman is keen for his compatriot to join him at the Santiago Bernabeu when his contract with Paris Saint Germain expires this summer, and believes that the pair would link up to great effect in Spain as they have for the French national team.

Individually, both are in fine form this season. Benzema netted a hat-trick in the last round of the Champions League to knock out Mbappe's PSG, and has scored 24 times in 26 La Liga outings this season to date.

Meanwhile, Mbappe scored both of his side's goals in the 3-2 aggregate defeat, and has 17 goals and 13 assists to his name in Ligue 1 this campaign.

But Benzema believes both could boost their tallies further by playing at club level.

'I like playing with [Mbappe] in the national team and I would like to play with him at club level,' Benzema revealed.

'I believe that we would score twice as many goals - or even three times the amount!'

'We have a great connection in the national team because we each know what the other one will do.

'For example, we both like going to the left but we will never both be there at the same time.'

Mbappe set for PSG U-turn?

However, if the latest reports are to be believed, then Benzema could be made to wait longer for any potential link up at club level with Mbappe.

This comes as RMC Sport claim that Mbappe has been convinced to remain at the Parc de Princes beyond this season with a lucrative new contract. Mbappe himself has denied such an agreement but did admit that it is 'of course' possible to stay at PSG beyond this season.

We may be forced to wait a little longer to see if Benzema's prediction is accurate.
