Karim Benzema joins club icon Raul in Real Madrid history books

Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has, on Sunday evening, continued to etch his name indellibly into the fabled history books of Los Blancos.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, of course, are currently locked in action.

After watching Barcelona get the better of Getafe earlier in the day, Real made the trip to San Mames, desperate for all three points in their bid to close the six-point gap to their Clasico rivals atop the La Liga table.

And, as things stand on Sunday evening, this is precisely what the European champions are on their way to doing.

This comes with Real in possession of a 1-0 advantage, courtesy of a moment of brilliance on the part of the aforementioned Karim Benzema.
