Jurgen Klopp’s sarcastic response to Todd Boehly’s ‘All-Star’ proposal

Jurgen Klopp has given a response to Todd Boehly’s recent comments on an All-Star Premier League match.

Speaking in a recent interview, Boehly proposed that the Premier League have a match between the best Northern eleven and the best Southern eleven each year, similar to what the MLB does in America:

“MLB did their all star game this year. They made $200m from a Monday and a Tuesday, you could do a North vs South all-star game from the Premier League to fund the pyramid very easily,”

The idea is appealing to some fans, but it does not look to have gone down too well with Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool faced off with Ajax on Tuesday evening in a Champions League clash.

Liverpool needed to win to ensure they did not slip too far behind the group leaders after they lost 4-1 to Napoli last week.

And, when all was said and done at Anfield, Liverpool did come away with a 2-1 win.

“He hasn’t waited long! Oh great, maybe he can find a date for it. It’s completely different in America. Does he want to bring the Harlem Globetrotters as well? ” Klopp said.

Following Boehly’s comments, 101 have created hypothetical North and South Premier League elevens, which you can see here. And likely to Klopp’s joy, there are not many Liverpool stars included.
