Jurgen Klopp has revealed his take that one Liverpool player looked' incredible' in his display versus Manchester City on Saturday.
Liverpool faced off with City in an FA Cup semi-final tie yesterday, with whichever side emerged triumphant widely viewed as the favourite to go on to clinch the trophy.
And, after Pep Guardiola’s team selection came back to bite him, Liverpool were able to come away with a 3-2 win.
The Reds took a 3-0 lead into the break thanks to some individual errors on the part of City, and a moment of magic from Thiago and Sadio Mane.
Jurgen Klopp on Sadio Mane
Man City did manage to pull two goals back in the second half, but Liverpool held out for the win and will now face either Chelsea or Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.
And now, following the game, Jurgen Klopp has revealed his take that Sadio Mane, who scored one of the goals of the tournament during the clash, enjoyed an 'incredible game' on Saturday:
“He played an incredible game, an absolutely incredible game,” Klopp told the club's website. “He was the first player to start the press, so it was intense for him as well. The first goal he scored, I love it. But I don't like too much that the goalie will get some criticism for it, but it's not about that because Zack can do what he wants in that situation, like Ederson did a week ago.
“These kind of things happen, with Ali and all these things. If you want to play football, that can happen. But the acceleration of Sadio, the desire to get there, it was really great. So this goal was great and the other one was obviously proper football until the final pass with the little chip and then the volley – it was a great goal.”
