Jurgen Klopp provides negative Liverpool injury update & speaks out on potential transfers

Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth.

Jurgen Klopp discussed a number of topics in his press conference, including injury news.

Liverpool have experienced something of an injury crisis of late, with a number of midfielders and two key centre-backs missing the early stages of the campaign.

And that is set to contiue this weekend with no players expected back: “Nobody for the weekend. But after that, Joel, Curtis, Thiago is not far away, Diogo is getting closer, Caoimh will be in training next week as well. Don’t think anybody will be ready for tomorrow.”

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp was asked about the bust-up between James Milner & Virgil van Dijk during the loss to Manchester United: “We spoke about everything [this week]. Milly is an emotional player and I had plenty of conversations with my best friends like this on the pitch. It looks more serious than it is. No problem at all.”

The German then provided a Liverpool transfer update: “We are working constantly on these things. Sometimes it’s expensive, sometimes not the right player, but we’re working. If something will happen or not, I don’t know.”

Liverpool vs Bournemouth

Liverpool head into the Bournemouth game having experienced their worst start to a Premier League season for many years.

However, if there was one game you would want to get a season back on track, it is Bournemouth at home.

Bournemouth have beaten Liverpool just once – 4-3 back in 2016 – and the majority of their most recent outings have seen Liverpool come away with 3 and 4-0 wins.

They are also pretty poor against most big teams, losing 4-0 and 3-0 vs Manchester City and Arsenal already this campaign.
