In one of the more surprising stories of the weekend, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with Newcastle.
According to Football Insider, Jurgen Klopp is ‘obsessed’ by Newcastle United amid growing doubts over his long-term Liverpool future.
The Anfield boss has publicly confirmed his commitment to his current job in recent weeks after owners Fenway Sports Group put the club up for sale.
But Liverpool observers have noted a growing interest behind the scenes from the German in upwardly mobile Newcastle.
It is added that Klopp is regularly asking people in football about Newcastle’s plans and what they will do next, including in the transfer market in January and next summer.
The level of interest has even led to whispers that the 55-year-old wants to take on the Newcastle job when he eventually leaves Liverpool.
Klopp has previously been very vocal about Liverpool’s inability to compete with the state-owned Manchester City in the transfer market but perhaps now the German wants to try it out for himself.
Liverpool are also currently up for sale and have been linked with the Saudi Arabian government in recent weeks.
