Jadon Sancho ‘agrees’ terms over a 5-year Man United contract but talks with Dortmund are ongoing

Jadon Sancho ‘agrees’ terms over a 5-year Man United contract

A fresh wave of Jadon Sancho and Man United updates spilled out on social media on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Sancho has been linked with a move to Man United from Borussia Dortmund for several months.

According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk, Sancho has agreed terms to join the Red Devils in a 5-year deal.

Breaking down the latest update, Christian Falk laid out the following points:

– Man United and Sancho have an agreement in place for a contract that would only expire in 2025.

– Under the terms of the agreement, Sancho would receive a “mega salary”.

– Yet, Man United still need to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund. And BVB haven’t budged on their asking price: 120 million euros.

Jadon Sancho wages at Man United

If Jadon Sancho completes his move to Old Trafford, the youngster is set for a major pay hike.

Reporter Ian McGarry has previously outlined the following on Sancho’s proposed wage increase:

It is our understanding that Sancho has agreed in principle in the last two weeks a five-year contract with Manchester United which will pay him initially £140,000 per week but increasing to around £200,000 per week over the course of that deal.

20-year-old Sancho is under contract at BVB until 2022.

Last season he scored 17 goals and chipped in with 17 assists in 32 Bundesliga matches.

So will Man United sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund?

Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Sancho and Man United have agreed personal terms over a deal until 2025.

On the likelihood of United and BVB finally reaching terms too, Fabrizio Romano notes that the clubs are in daily contact about the potential transfer.

Those talks are at an “advanced stage”, although the parties are still haggling over possible add-ons and installments.

In an indication that the transfer saga may drag out a while longer, Fabrizio Romano added that “it’s up to the two clubs and needs time”.
