Jadon Sancho ‘agrees personal terms’ with Man United as Dortmund strike Jude Bellingham deal

Jadon Sancho

The latest speculation stemming from the media this evening suggests that Manchester United have agreed on the personal terms of a contract with Jadon Sancho.

Sancho’s exit links

Despite the financial restrictions set to be brought about by the COVID-19 crisis, speculation surrounding the futures of some of European football’s biggest stars has continued to swirl ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Philippe Coutinho and Neymar have been hotly-tipped to be on the move over the coming months, with Manchester United and Barcelona just two of the sides hopeful of securing major reinforcements ahead of next season.

Few, if any, though, have been more persistently linked with an imminent exit from their current club than Jadon Sancho.

Following another scintillating campaign with Borussia Dortmund, during which the young Englishman racked up a hefty 20 goals and 20 assists, speculation has been rife that Sancho could be set for a Premier League return.

To this point, the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and even former club Manchester City have been tipped as potential landing spots for the explosive 20-year-old.

Sancho agrees terms?

No club, though, have been more persistently linked with Sancho than Manchester United.

The Red Devils have long been reported to have established themselves as frontrunners in the race for the Dortmund star’s signature, amid claims that Sancho is ‘very open’ to the prospect of a move to Old Trafford.

And, as outlined above, a major claim in the English media today has suggested that a deal, between player and club at least, has in fact already been struck.

According to transfer expert Ian McGarry, Sancho has agreed, in principle, to the personal terms of a contract with Man United.

Speaking alongside Duncan Castles on the Transfer Window Podcast, McGarry explained:

‘It is our understanding that Sancho has agreed in principle in the last two weeks a five-year contract with Manchester United which will pay him initially £140,000 per week but increasing to around £200,000 per week over the course of that deal.’

‘The player’s agent has recently been busy doing other deals, notably with Saka’s new deal with Arsenal but is still hopeful that United will be able to agree a fee with Borussia Dortmund.’

‘Manchester United have been rather robust in a briefing this week that they will not pay any more than £50m for Jadon Sancho which of course is at least less than half of Borussia Dortmund’s original valuation of the England international.’

Bellingham to Dortmund

In other transfer news relating to both Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, Jude Bellingham is said to be all set to join up with the latter ahead of next season.

Birmingham sensation Bellingham has emerged as one of English football’s most highly-regarded young talents over the course of the season, resulting in inevitable speculation surrounding his future.

United and Dortmund have, for some time, been viewed as the leading candidates to lure the 17-year-old away from St. Andrew’s, with the former even said to have provided Bellingham with a guided tour of the club’s training base.

In a major development over the last 24 hours, though, confirmation has all but arrived that the young midfielder is set for Germany.

As revealed by the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Bellingham has opted to join Dortmund, in a €23 million deal:
