Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer has opened the door to making his loan move permanent at Old Trafford this summer, admitting that ‘I like the team’ and that ‘I’m feeling good here’ in a recent interview.

The Austrian midfielder arrived from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day in January following the news that Christian Eriksen was set to be sidelined until May with an ankle injury sustained in a routine FA Cup win over Reading.

And so far, he has not put a foot wrong, appearing three times as Manchester United have taken seven points from a possible nine, with the 28-year-old impressing on both of his starts so far. He is, however, banned for the upcoming Europa League clash with Barcelona as a result of a suspension picked up with Bayern Munich.

Midfield is an area that the Red Devils are looking to strengthen this summer, and to that end the 28-year-old could be a shrewd acquisition, with the arrival of Ryan Gravenberch and the impending arrival of former teammate Konrad Laimer at the Allianz Arena likely making Sabitzer surplus to requirements for Julien Nagelsmann.

And, quizzed on his future, Sabitzer refused to rule anything out, admitting that he is enjoying his spell at the club so far, but that he will have to wait and see what happens in the summer.

“It’s a loan to Man United at the moment, that’s all I can say. I like it here”, he told the Daily Mail.

Alongside some of the more expensive options earmarked by the Red Devils, such as Frenkie de Jong, Sabitzer could prove to be a good low cost addition at Old Trafford this summer.
