‘I am so happy for him’: Bukayo Saka heaps praise on Arsenal star

Bukayo Saka has been discussing one of his Arsenal teammates in a recent interview.

The player in question is Reiss Nelson, who spent 2022/23 as the backup option to Bukayo Saka.

However, though no move has materialised yet, reports throughout the summer have suggested that the Gunners want to sign a new right winger to compete with Saka, which would likely make Nelson surplus to requirements.

Nelson made 11 Premier League appearances, scoring three and assisting two for the Gunners during 2022/23.

A few of those goals helped Arsenal secure some key points but it is easy to see why they may wish to strengthen on the right now they are back in the Champions League and looking to compete for the title once more.

However, one man who still believes in Nelson is his closest competition for a spot in Arsenal’s XI, Bukayo Saka.

Speaking about Nelson in a recent interview, Saka said: “I am happy every time I see one of my boys do well – Reiss Nelson, the winner [against Bournemouth]. I am so happy for him, that moment. He deserved it.

“Eddie as well; Emile — I hope we can continue to make an impact because we all love this club.”
