Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris has, late on Sunday, provided an update on his current wellbeing.

For those who may have missed it, shot-stopper Lloris was forced into a premature departure from Spurs’ latest outing earlier this afternoon.

En route to a remarkable 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Newcastle United, the Frenchman lasted just 45 minutes, before being replaced by backup Fraser Forster.

On the back of his withdrawal being confirmed, though, many of a Tottenham persuasion accused Lloris of essentially feigning injury, so as to avoid further embarrassment.

Speaking post-match, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his fitness was put to the 36-year-old himself.

And Lloris went on to confirm that he has not only picked up an injury, but a concerning one at that.

‘My injury does not sound good, I don’t know if it’s a muscle but around the hip when I kicked. It doesn’t sound good.’

Should he face any sort of extended spell on the sidelines, Lloris may now have played his final game in Spurs colours, ahead of a widely expected departure from north London in the summer.
