Leicester 0-Chelsea 0
Leicester finished their 2018/19 season with a 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea.
The Foxes ended the season with 52 points, landing themselves in 9th-place in the Premier League table.
Leicester were seven points behind 7th-placed Wolves, a spot they should really be aiming for next season.
7th-place will earn Wolves Europa League football this year, as long as Manchester City beat Watford in the FA Cup final.
Maddison’s excellent debut season
Brendan Rodgers did manage to improve Leicester’s form after taking over from Claude Puel in February. But he will only properly be judged once he has had a full summer to put his stamp on the side.
One player Rodgers will no doubt be keen to keep hold of is James Maddison.
Maddison signed for Leicester last summer from then-Championship outfit, Norwich.
Despite having had no prior Premier League experience, Maddison has proven himself to be an excellent purchase.
In 36 league outings for Leicester, the 22-year-old has scored seven and assisted seven.
Also, after the Foxes’ final game of the season, a very impressive stat has come to light, highlighting the youngster’s creativity.
Maddison was the only player across all 20 Premier League clubs to create 100 goal-scoring chances in the English top-flight this season.
He was also the first English player to do so since the 2011/12 season, when Everton’s Leighton Baines achieved a similar total.
