Guillem Balague plays down Thiago to Liverpool rumours/ Man United & Arsenal named as potential destinations

Transfer expert Guillem Balague has, on Tuesday, moved to provide an update on the future of Bayern Munich’s Thiago.

Thiago’s Bayern stint

Thiago, once of FC Barcelona, joined the German giants just over seven years ago.

And whilst the Spaniard struggled to hold down a regular spot with Barca, Thiago has since gone on to form a key part of Bayern’s midfield.

All told, the now 29-year-old has notched over 230 appearances for the Munich-based outfit, scoring 31 and assisting 37 in the process.

And despite his injury struggles since the restart, Thiago still played a pivotal role in Bayern’s latest title-winning campaign, garnering 24 Bundesliga outings.

Thiago wants Premier League switch

Now though, despite all his success, it seems the former Barcelona man is set to depart the champions in the near future.

Bayern’s CEO stated last week that Thiago looks like he wants to do something new with his career, before hinting the club will sell him in the summer, rather than lose him for free next year.

Said comments came around the same time Liverpool were being linked with a move for the midfielder.

However, Guillem Balague has recently moved to play down the chances of the Premier League champions landing Thiago.

Balague held a Q&A video on his YouTube channel on Tuesday, during which he was drawn on Thiago’s future.

Balague went on to confirm that Thiago will indeed by departing the Allianz Arena. It was then added that the player wants to move to the Premier League with three clubs said to be appealing to the Bayern man. Those sides being Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United:

Thiago is leaving Bayern Munich that’s the first thing to say and that’s been confirmed by three different sources so he’s leaving Bayern Munich.

Now I’ve been told that he’ll go to the Premier League that’s what he wants, either Liverpool Manchester United or Arsenal that’s what he wants.

However, Liverpool fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too much when it comes to the potential signing of Thiago as Balague asserts that Liverpool are still not planning to spend this summer, especially in a position they have lots of players already:

Now Liverpool I’ve been asking and what I’m getting is that it doesn’t it doesn’t match the plan and the plan is no spending this summer, especially for a player in a position that they’ve got lots of players already. So when it gets published by Bild German newspaper that he’s going to go to Liverpool or that he thinks he told his teammates etc, it’s just rumours.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool have not spoken about Thiago what I’m getting is that Liverpool are still thinking of not spending and they don’t think he’s going to go to Liverpool. Then you’ve got Manchester United or Arsenal so we’ll have to see but that’s what I hear so far.
