Chelsea’s form has been dismal in 2023 so far.
The Blues have won just one game all year and are now closer to the relegation zone then the top-four.
This has led to increasing pressure on Graham Potter. And now, Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has been linked with the Chelsea job.
But when asked about the possibility of him taking charge of an English club, Amorim was adamant his full focus was on Sporting and turning the club’s form around:
“Regarding the compliments, of course it’s always good to hear, but my reality goes through white handkerchiefs last week and a season far below what I wanted,” Amorim said, via O Jogo.
“Even linking to the comment that was made, the results dictate everything. What happens around the game does not matter.
“I don’t want to open doors to England. I’ve already had some contacts and I’ve always said and I’ll say again that I’m very happy here.
“What I don’t want is to disappoint my supporters, who last week showed their displeasure with the coach. I don’t want to open other doors.”
