Graham Potter gives Brighton verdict ahead of Manchester United clash

Graham Potter has offered his assessment of the Brighton squad ahead of their season opener.

Manchester United’s first game of the season sees them take on Brighton on Sunday the 7th of August.

United head into the game on the back of a positive pre-season under new manager, Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils will also no doubt be keen to avoid a repeat of the 4-0 drubbing they received at the hands of the Seagulls in their last meeting on May 7th.

Brighton, though, are no pushover and are expected to prove a stern test for Ten Hag in his first real taste of English football.

Ahead of the game, Graham Potter has given his assessment of Brighton following the Seagulls’ 2022 pre-season.

During an interview with The Athletic, Potter said: “I’m happy as I can be with this pre-season. In terms of how we are performing, how we are acting every day and in games.

Potter continued: “Like anything in the Premier League, there are no easy ones. You’ve got to be ready to compete and to try and get points against anybody.

“We’ve proved that but, still, I don’t take any game for granted and no game should be totally out of our reach. We just need to focus on us, preparing as well as we can and then we’ll see.”
