Bad news for Liverpool’s Adam Lallana
It’s been a bad few days for Liverpool.
Everyone was cheering from the rafters at Anfield following the recent 4-3 win over Man City in the Premier League.
But following that results the Reds have imploded.
The lost 1-0 away at Swansea before West Brom turfed them out the FA Cup last weekend.
Will Jurgen Klopp finish his third season on Merseyside without a trophy?
Monday morning has started with more bad news for Klopp as Adam Lallana is back on the injury table.
Good for Huddersfield & Tottenham
As reported in the Liverpool Echo:
Adam Lallana has been ruled out of Liverpool’s trip to Huddersfield Town – and could miss the Anfield blockbuster against Tottenham Hotspur.
Lallana was absent from the home 3-2 FA Cup fourth round defeat against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend after suffering what Reds boss Jurgen Klopp described as a “little tear” in a muscle in his leg.
Will Lallana’s latest injury force Liverpool to move in the final days of the January window?
Heading into the final days of the transfer of the window, that still seems unlikely.
Liverpool splashed out 75 million pounds on Virgil van Dijk. They tried and failed to bring Naby Keita from RB Leipzig to Anfield in this window. While rumours linking them to Thomas Lemar seem wide of the mark.
Will Daniel Sturridge leave?
Perhaps the more likely transfer activity at Liverpool this week will revolve around outgoings.
Top of that list is Daniel Sturridge, although links to Inter Milan seemed to nosedive over the weekend.
On Sunday in Italy, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to Premium Sport about the club’s movements in the remaining days of the window. On Sturridge he said:
Sturridge? I do not exclude anything, but we made our evaluations. We already have players for that role. If there are opportunities in the future, then we could have some movement.
