Gary Neville names Manchester City star as current player he would like to play with

Gary Neville has picked a current player he would like play alongside now.

Neville was working for Sky Sports on Monday, covering Liverpool’s game with Crystal Palace, which they drew 1-1.

Whilst working on Monday, Neville was asked which current footballer he would like to play alongside.

After picking Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk as a defensive option, the former Manchester United right-back went on to single out Manchester City’s Phil Foden as an attacker he would play with:

“I think from an attacking point of view it would be a young English player. I always look at Phil Foden and think ‘How have United not got him as a youngster?’,” the Salford City owner said.

“You look at Foden and think that’s the type of player who you’d think ‘what a player he is, he’ll be around a long time’. So I’ll say Foden.”

It is easy to see why Foden has caught Gary Neville’s eye as he is one of the best young talents in Europe.

Foden’s latest goal contributions came vs Bournemouth on Saturday. He was only on the pitch for 45 minutes but still managed to chip in with one goal and one assist as City ran out 4-0 winners on the day to secure their spot atop of the Premier League.
