Gareth Southgate has provided an update on Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe ahead of England’s next outing.
Smith Rowe is enjoying a solid season for the Gunners, having scored nine and assisted two in 24 league outings so far this term.
And such good form saw the 21-year-old called up to England’s latest squad for the international break.
The Three Lions’ first clash of the break saw them take on Switzerland on Saturday, coming from 1-0 down to earn a 2-1 win in a friendly match.
Smith Rowe was present at the game but did not make the matchday squad due to an injury that saw him miss training in the build-up to the encounter.
England are now set to face off with Ivory Coast on Tuesday, and Southgate has again been unable to confirm whether or not ESR will be available to feature:
“He is the only other one we have got any flags on.”

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
Arsenal will no doubt be hoping that Smith Rowe’s injury issue has been cleared up by the time the Premier League returns next weekend.
The Gunners’ first game after the break comes in the form of a meeting with a Crystal Palace side who continue to impress under Arsenal legend, Patrick Vieira.
Mikel Arteta’s side sit 4th in the Premier League table at present, but there are just four points separating them, Tottenham and Manchester United.
