Fresh Arsenal injury concerns sparked after PSV defeat

The north Londoners endured a night to forget on Thursday

Fears surrounding the wellbeing of a key member of the defensive setup at Premier League giants Arsenal have begun to spread late on Thursday evening.

This, of course, comes after Mikel Arteta’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago.

After making the trip to the Netherlands for a meeting with PSV Eindhoven, the Gunners kicked the action into gear in the knowledge that a victory would see them ensured of top spot in the Europa League Group A table.

When all was said and done, however, the evening’s visitors were instead condemned to an altogether deserved defeat.

A frankly lacklustre display saw Arsenal depart the Philips Stadion on the wrong side of a 2-0 scoreline, owing to goals on the part of the hosts’ Joey Veerman and Luuk de Jong.

And yet, as alluded to above, the woes of Arteta and co. were not confined solely to the eventual result in Eindhoven on Thursday.

As per journalist Sam Dean of The Telegraph, defender Gabriel Magalhaes was spotted limping from the Philips Stadion pitch, making his way down the tunnel whilst ‘grimacing in pain’.

It now remains to be seen whether the Brazilian, in turn, faces any sort of spell on the sidelines.
