Frank Lampard provides injury update on Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour

Chelsea vs Sevilla

Chelsea are set to kick off their 2020/21 Champions League campaign in just over 24 hours time.

The Blues were subjected to a hugely disappointing end to their time in last season’s competition, after being dealt a 7-1 two-legged drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

As a result, this new-look Chelsea squad will no doubt be eager to prove that they have improved a great deal over the time since.

The Londoners’ first European test of the season will see them play host to Sevilla on Tuesday.

The Spaniards, of course, clinched the Europa League in impressive fashion last term, before holding their own against Bayern in the Super Cup.

So, tomorrow’s clash will likely prove one of Chelsea’s toughest of their group stage campaign, with the club’s remaining two opponents coming in the form of Rennes and Krasnodar.

Frank Lampard provides update on Billy Gilmour

Ahead of his side’s meeting with Sevilla, meanwhile, Frank Lampard held his latest press conference on Monday afternoon.

A host of topics were discussed during the presser, one of which surrounded the fitness of Billy Gilmour.

The youngster exploded into the Chelsea first-team picture last season, with eye-catching displays vs the likes of Liverpool and Everton.

However, the Scotsman has been sidelined since July, after picking up a knee injury vs Crystal Palace.

Speaking on Monday, though, Lampard revealed that Gilmour now looks just three or four weeks away from a return:
