The Fantasy Premier League deadline for gameweek two is 11:00 am UK time on Saturday.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you chose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 4

Gabriel Jesus vs Fulham (8.1)

Since making the switch to Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus has looked a player reborn.

The Brazilian has stepped up when handed a starring role in the Gunners attack and is currently the joint-highest scoring forward on FPL.

The forward scored vs Bournemouth in GW3 but it was ruled out because Ben White was offside. He also had a likely goal-scoring chance taken away from him by Martin Odegaard. Jesus is central to Arsenal’s impressive form and this is likely why he has the 3rd-highest xA in the PL currently behind only Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Harrison.

Arsenal are at home to Fulham this weekend, a side they have not lost to since 2012.

Mohamed Salah vs Bournemouth (13.0)

Salah and Liverpool have not stepped up to the plate this season so far, but he is still a viable captain choice vs Bournemouth.

The Cherries were heavy favourites to be relegated in 2022/23 and have already more than proven they still cannot hang with the big teams, losing 4-0 to Manchester City and 3-0 to Arsenal already this term.

Bournemouth have also beaten Liverpool just once – 4-3 back in 2016 – and the majority of their most recent outings have seen Liverpool come away with 3 and 4-0 wins.

Erling Haaland vs Crystal Palace (11.7)

Crystal Palace have becoming something of a bogey team for Manchester City, with the Sky Blues failing to beat them in their last two meetings.

However, Erling Haaland is still very likely to be in on the goals this weekend.

The Norwegian has the second highest xG in the Premier League this season, the second-highest expected FPL points and has been very unlucky not to score more.

He already has three goals to his name, but Phil Foden has failed to pass to him on two occasions that would have very likely led to goals and, vs Newcastle, he was denied more than one goal due to the excellent goalkeeping of Nick Pope.
