FPL 2022/23: Best captain picks gameweek 3

Week three of the Premier League season kicks off on Saturday the 20th of August.

The Fantasy Premier League deadline for gameweek two is 11:00 am UK time on Saturday.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you chose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 3

Harry Kane vs Wolves (11.4)

Tottenham Hotspur FC were one of the highest-scoring teams in the Premier League during the second half of last season and have continued that form into the current season.

So far they have scored six in just two ties, and are expected to put a few past Wolves this weekend as well.

Harry Kane, meanwhile, got off the mark vs Chelsea in GW2, putting to bed any fears of another August drought.

Gabriel Jesus vs Bournemouth (8.0)

Arsenal have an excellent record against Bournemouth, which has seen them lose just once in the 12 meetings between the two sides.

As for Gabriel Jesus, he is in fine form and is top of the FPL striker charts after netting two and assisting two in the Gunners’ 4-2 win over Leicester last weekend.

The Brazilian has also has the most shots in the box of any Premier League player so far this season (8) and has the third most big chances behind only Erling Haaland and the suspended Darwin Nunez.

Mohamed Salah vs Manchester United (13.0)

Liverpool have not had the most productive start to the 2022/23 season, but their opponents this weekend are a complete shambles.

Manchester United have so far lost 2-1 vs Brighton and 4-0 vs Brentford this campaign.

As a result, even if Liverpool are not at their best, it is hard to see United managing their first clean sheet of the season vs Salah and co.

Luis Diaz is also a viable option this week, but with Salah on penalties, he is probably the best pick.
